PHOTO WALKS

“Vicki and myself would like to take you on a walk through some of the most spectacular scenery in the Lake District and Eryri (Snowdonia). The routes we undertake will not be too strenuous but will go over undulating ground, lasting approximately 5-6 hours in duration. That will include a lunch break.

During the long months of Lockdown and other covid restrictions, I fantasised about my perfect
photography day out where all I had to think about
was what kit to take, knowing I could follow a
well thought out pre-planned route, with
guaranteed photo opportunities and some expert
knowledge on hand should I need it, and preferably
in the company of a few other likeminded
people. Well miracles do happen and I was able to do just that on a Photo Walk organised
by Mark and his talented assistant Vicki.
Somehow they’d even managed to arrange some great
weather (perhaps not entirely due to them) and I enjoyed a wonderful Photo Walk in beautiful
Snowdonia with a small group of lovely people. The route was well thought out, with plenty of time to
take in the views and get the shots we wanted, as
well as a relaxing lunch stop. It was exactly
what I needed in order to convince myself that the
world of photo opportunity is still out there and
that we are, slowly but surely, able to get back
to doing the things we love to do. I’m already
looking forward to the next one, Thanks Mark & Vicki.

So what do we offer you?

Mark is one of the countries leading landscape photographers and has a wealth of experience working and taking groups out onto the Lake District fells and the mountains of Eryri over the past 45 years. Vicki looks through her lens in a slightly different way and offers a nicely balanced contrast to Marks 'wider' views of the fells. As we walk together, we will point out how we would approach photographing what we see and of course every time we go out that will be something very different.

Both Mark and Vicki have undertaken and passed their Mountain Skills courses

Those of you who are regular visitors to the Lakes and Snowdonia will know that walking and stopping to take photographs can be a hindrance to other members of your usual walking group but we will show you how you can combine the two comfortably without being the source of adverse comments from others. Well not too much! Both Vicki and I will be on hand to help you with any technical queries you may have with your camera and to help with compositions. We would however expect a basic knowledge of your camera and how to adjust settings before coming out with us. We do have to emphasise that this is not a workshop but our guidance with your photography that is on offer.

I enjoyed the relaxed pace of the day and while this was not a workshop there was still plenty of great information and tips to be had.

So what will you need? As we are going to be out for a while a packed lunch, proper walking boots as well as the correct, purpose designed clothing to cover weather eventualities. Poles would be an advantage too when we descend. These are basic essentials. After all, it is the mountains....

Groups will be limited to a maximum of 10 people but will only be undertaken with a minimum of 6 and you will be responsible for your own safety during the walk.

For further information please contact Vicki via her email at victoria@victoriajaynephotography.com

The cost for the day with us is £60 per person.

NB “If you are in any doubt as to your own health and suitability, you must seek medical advice prior to attending. We always reserve the right to refuse anyone who arrives at the location either improperly dressed or evidently not fit to undertake the walk.”
